My name is Megan. I am a registered dietitian with a passion for learning more each day about the science of nutrition, with a special focus on diabetes. I am excited to be making this blog for a graduate project because it gives me the opportunity to reach out to more people.

While I do not have diabetes myself, some people near and dear to my heart do. My passion for learning more about the disease of type 2 diabetes came after I was asked to help my grandfather, who has been living with diabetes since he was 60 (he's 91 now). He was having trouble as he got older with choosing what foods to eat that would keep his blood sugar in check. Seeing the frustration and confusion that can came with understanding carbohydrates led me to want to learn more about type 2 diabetes. I have used this knowledge to help my grandfather as well as patients in the hospital I work at.
My hope is that this blog can be used as a resource to help guide people through the confusing parts of diabetes, and hopefully make the lives of those living with type 2 diabetes (and the lives of their families) a little easier.
